"Familiar Faces: Family and Self-Portraits" is an invitation to artists and viewers to take a look at what we think we already know very well - our family and ourselves. In what is often an over-stimulated world, there is a pull to spend our time on external things - work of course, but also on all the new ways that we are able to be constatly enterained, engaged or connected.
At times, though, looking at something familiar - the face of our child, or parent, or partner, or ourselves - tells us things that we can't find anywhere else. Sometimes what looks like myopia is really panorama. Sometimes looking inward will open us up to the world.
